Improvements

Concrete improvement ideas for individual measures

1.1 Replacement of plastic parts (baseboard of seat, backrest, invisible covers) with renewable raw materials for example pressed cardboard, cork

2.1 Use of secondary materials: invisible plastic parts, recycled steel and aluminium for example base made out of secondary aluminium

2.2 Material saving by strengh optimized design for the armrest, for example ergonomically formed single material parts made out of plastic

2.3 Material saving by function integration, for example by designing the backrest as an elastic grid - cushion and column in one part

When implementing ECODESIGN product improvements, creativity and unconventionel approaches as well as knowledge about environmental impact and technical aspects are necessary. The ECODESIGN PILOT helps you to combine the aspects and constitutes a structural but still simple cookbook to find improvement measures.

Question: How to proceed?
Integration of the experiences into the product management process
Integration of the data into continuous product improvement
New product development under environmental aspects
Disregard the requirements of the consumers
Avoid ecological image by not communicating environmental advantages
