Description
Procedural development and construction of a pilot plant for economical production of multiple-layer (net)textiles, especially net sacks made from natural fibres. Conventional knitting machines were designed for the use of synthetic materials and for large scale production and cannot be adopted.

Ecodesign comment
The use of natural fibres for packaging leads to the substitution of fossil fuel based plastics and renewables can be used in an economical way. The packaging of goods with the natural fibres leads to better protection properties and makes the disposal of the nets easier which presents a major advantage when disposing of food waste.
