Call for participation in the Handbook of Sustainable Engineering
2008-10-03 / 09:37 from Elisabeth LinsbergerDear Madam or Sir,
We invite academicians, researchers and industry practitioners to participate in the Handbook of Sustainable Engineering and to contribute chapters to this Handbook on important areas, concepts, and developments in the field.
The Handbook of Sustainable Engineering aims to provide a comprehensive reference to the practise of sustainable engineering. The volume will present academic research results and practical examples of successful implementation of sustainable engineering solutions. We hope to present through this work a joint platform for academicians and industry practitioners to join and help develop solutions to support sustainable development. A fuller discussion of the volume’s focus and areas covered is provided in Aims & Scope at http://refworks.springer.com/mrw/index.php?id=2085.
The Handbook will be organized in an easily accessible chapter-based format and will be available both in print and online. The print publication will include an index of subjects and of authors. The online edition will be an XML-based e-Reference, fully searchable with four colour art and cross-references. This version will also be regularly updated as new trends and areas of focus emerge.
Publication of the Handbook of Sustainable Engineering is planned for winter 2009. To accomplish this, manuscripts will be received and peer-reviewed in 2008 and early 2009.
We are confident that with your participation, we will soon have a solid volume that serves academia and industry, in addition to a broader audience of opinion leaders, policy makers, social development activists, and students.
Yours sincerely,
Wolfgang Wimmer, VUT Vienna
