After manufacturing the product has to be transported to the location where it is used. More often than not, the product will change from one owner to another. The kind of packaging and materials used e.g. reusable, renewable materials and the means of transportation (lorry, ship, train, plane,...) can have a big influence on the environmental performance of a product.
